No trip to the Bennington area is complete without a visit to the Bennington Battle Monument. The Bennington Battle Monument, dedicated to the famous Battle of Bennington that took place during the Revolutionary war in 1777, is a 306′ stone obelisk opened to the public in 1891. It is located north of VT Rte 9, about 4 miles east of the New York border. A guided elevator takes visitors to the observation floor for spectacular views of Historic Bennington and three states.
Enjoy the 10 minute driving tour from our Vermont bed and breakfast to the Bennington Battle Monument. You’ll pass Park McCullough Mansion, a Christmas tree farm, travel over 3 Vermont covered bridges to your destination in Old Bennington Village.
