Historic Getaway to a VT bed and breakfastPosted on: May 5th, 2010 by Patti Eddington
May in Vermont
Things really come alive in Southern Vermont during the month of May. It’s a great month for a getaway to a Vermont bed and breakfast whether you are looking for a little romance, a little culture or a getaway with your Mom or girlfriends.
The Bennington area will see the re-opening of the Park McCullough Historic Estate in charming North Bennington Village, just around the corner from the Eddington House Inn. Stroll from our bed and breakfast to take the house tour of Historic Park McCullough. The docents are very knowledgeable and the house is a real jewel. It is fully furnished and looks like the family may have just stepped out for tea and never returned. The thirty-five room Park-McCullough House was completed in 1865 for Trenor and Laura Park. This elegant lifestyle and summer home was made possible through vast wealth accumulated during the California Gold Rush era.
Adjacent to Park McCullough you’ll find a wonderful system of trails – Mile Around Woods. You discover wildflowers, beautiful views and peace and tranquility. This trail system is a short walk from the Eddington House Inn bed and breakfast.
Plan a Spring getaway to a Vermont bed and breakfast. You’ll be blown away by the gardens and beautiful scenery.
