2010 Art Park – North Bennington Village Vermont
July 17th marks the beginning of the 13th year of the North Bennington Art Park in North Bennington Village. The show’s official opening is July 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., on the grounds surrounding the post office and train station, and is open to the public. There will be music and refreshments, but “it’s mostly about the artwork.”
Fred Brownstein, a local but internationally known sculpture, is putting the show together again this year. The exhibition includes sculpture, painting and mixed media artwork from artists invited especially for this show. Brownstein said one key to the exhibit is that it really shows that “the artist is your neighbor”.
And the artists don’t do it alone. They receive sponsorship from local businesses, help in positioning large sculptures from Art Whitman, and hot dogs and ice cream for the kids from Kevin’s, as well as funding from the Sage City Syndicate and the Fund For North Bennington. It’s a wonderful community event.
The North Bennington Art Park is just up the street from the Eddington House Inn on Main Street (Route 67) and artwork will be on display until October 1oth.
