Grama Moses Family FarmPosted on: August 29th, 2010 by Patti Eddington
Just minutes away from the Eddington House Inn you’ll find the Moses Family Farm which is famous in this area for their sweet corn. An additional bonus this time of year is that the farm opens fields of tomatoes for picking.
The views are fantastic, the fields are full of fabulous tomatoes, the picking is clean and easy and the price is right. You can purchase a half bushel basket at the farm stand or entrance to the fields and will be directed to the best field to pick that day. This turkey (it was HUGE) was wandering the farm on my last visit so I snapped his picture. A visit to Moses Farm is a great adventure and the tomatoes are as sweet as candy.
I always go several times each season…it’s less than 30 minutes from our Southern Vermont inn located just of route 67 in nearby New York State. I serve tomatoes at breakfast, and enjoy them in salads, cut up with a sandwich, in a blt, in salsas, tomato sauce, gazpacho, etc. etc.
Tomato picking is a MUST this season if you are visiting Southern Vermont and “driving” home. What a treat!!
