In 1950 Sterling and Francine Clark chartered the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute as a home for their extensive art collection including nineteenth-century European and American painting, with a wonderful representation of the French Impressionists. Opened to public in 1955, the Institute has built upon this extraordinary group of works to become one of the most beloved and respected art museums in the world, known for its intimate galleries and stunning natural environment.

In addition to the fabulous exhibit halls, the Clark also offers special programs and performances. This weekend, renowned harpsichordist Victor Hill will present a solo recital at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on Sunday, February 26 at 3:00 pm. Admission is free. Featured on the program are Bach’s “Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue,” a suite by François Couperin, and selected sonatas by Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti.

Enjoy the scenic drive over Vermont covered bridges, through historic Old Bennngton, along Monument Avenue to join Route 7 into Massachusetts where you’ll find the Clark just a few blocks from the circle in Williamstown. The Clark is just 30 minutes from the Eddington House Inn.
