A romantic getaway in Southern Vermont calls for some stargazing. This is a particularly good week. If you live in the northern hemisphere, go out any night this week an hour or so after sunset and look at the western sky to see Venus, Saturn and Mars.
The Bennington area, tucked between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Taconic Range in New York, is an excellent place to do some stargazing all year long. The air is clean and crisp and there is minimal backlighting so the sky is clear and stars are prominent.
You might even catch a shooting star.
